MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING
We decided to jump into making a donation quilt for CASA. Quilts are due by mid November, so we elected to use a block of the month quilt that Terry Kogane already had. Blocks were passed out and are due back ASAP. All blocks should measure 12 1/2" finished.

We agreed on the following by-laws:

First and foremost, no stressing, have fun! New members will be accepted depending on a group vote and they must already know how to quilt.

If you have tips or anything else you would like put in the newsletter, you can pass along that information to Terry in person, or by email (sewhappy57@gmail.com).

SHOW & TELL
Jackie Letts showed her log cabin scrap quilt.

Dorothy Cobb showed a mini quilt with 800 individual pieces that were made into 1"x1" triangle squares. She also showed her gold bias tape medallion wall hanging, batik exchange quilt blocks that were made and exchanged during a class at the Quilt Tree, and paper-pieced mini flying geese.

Carol made individual embroidered "Sew Bee It" coasters for all of the guild members. Thank you, Carol!!

Doris showed her cathedral windows project that is still in progress.

Terry showed a turquoise and white flannel baby blanket.

Kathy showed 2 scrap quilts, disappearing nine patch and bricks and stepping stones.

MONEY SAVING TIP
Here is a spray starch recipe submitted by Cheri Worley:
One quart (4 cups water)
4-5 TBSP liquid startch.

Bring the water and starch to a boil and remove from heat.
Add two more cups of water and stir until clear.
When clear, add two more cups of water.
Add your favorite essential oil. One of mine is lavender, and I use 10 drops.
Store extra in refrigerator.

NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
I am really excited about our new guild. I'm looking forward to new challenges and some quality sewing time. Oh, and also the yummy desserts!

That's it for now!
See you soon,
Terry
